Dear AEA Families,

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! Together we will make the AEA experience the very best that our children deserve.

I am proud to introduce an amazing team of teachers and staff who are eager to serve their community and our children. Our teachers are highly qualified and dedicated to working hard every day to inspire all of our students. They will conduct action research, participate in rigorous professional development, and partner with you in order to help your child succeed.

Philosophy: To ensure the excellence of our academic programs for our children, we are teaching engaging project-based and STEAM activities with fidelity. It is our goal to make our students’ academic work challenging, motivating, and fulfilling. To that end, we are holding all stakeholders accountable for contributing to a warm and positive school environment in which we celebrate our students‘ accomplishments and academic growth. It is my belief that rigorous assessments and interventions, along with a culture of recognition and support can contribute greatly to every child’s success.

In addition, we must hold high expectations for our students on a daily basis. We want to recognize the efforts that are being made by each of them to build their confidence and character. We expect our upper elementary students to be leaders and role models to our younger students. Their efforts will serve them well as they progress through their academic careers.

Programs:  At AEA, we are proud to offer an engaging sports program, have available enrichment courses, and a multitude of ways for students to stay involved in their school and surrounding community. Through student-led groups and meaningful community service, our students will have the opportunities to apply their classroom learning to authentic settings.

Opportunities to Get Involved: We look forward to welcoming as much parental support as possible. With your help, we can make our school community shine. We encourage your ideas in order to maximize our children’s educational experiences. There are many ways to get involved on campus, but we also want everyone to help the school build partnerships with businesses and local groups that want to support our students in their projects, field trips, and learning opportunities this year.

We look forward to a wonderful school year!
